code of conduct

Mt. Index Riversites Community Club, Inc.
MISSION STATEMENT: The primary mission of MIRCC is to maintain roads within the community, and the secondary mission is to manage MIRCC owned property and work for the betterment of the community as a whole.
POLICY STATEMENT: Given its mission, the Board of Directors hereby adopts a code of conduct to guide its members and staff when acting on behalf of MIRCC. This code contains broad principles reflecting the types of behavior that MIRCC expects towards members and the public; it is not intended as a stand-alone policy, does not embody the totality of ethical standards nor does it answer every ethical question or issue that might arise. Rather, it is one element of a broader effort to create and maintain a quality organization that gives ethical conduct the highest priority.

BOARD & COMMITTEE MEMBERS SHALL:
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Abide by the governing documents and policies of MIRCC.
  • Provide credible and effective oversight to the organization’s operations without personal bias.
  • Openly and honestly tell the truth and not be deceptive in our business operations or activities.
  • Honor our commitments and promises to the best of our abilities.
  • Strive for excellence and innovation, demonstrate professional respect and consideration to everyone, and make an effort to understand and respect opinions of others.
  • Refrain from bullying or threatening behavior of any kind and ensure that all verbal and written communication is conducted in a civil and professional manner.
  • Ensure that all web postings and board emails are respectful and courteous to reflect the professionalism expected of board members.
  • Contribute to an organizational culture that fosters diversity and appreciation for the contributions of others.
  • Listen to community members and make all reasonable efforts to satisfy their needs and concerns within the scope of our mission.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive information about MIRCC, its members, and client privileged documents.
  • Not accept gifts, payments, commissions, promises of future benefits or other items of value from anyone who has or may seek some benefit from MIRCC for such considerations.
  • Not identify self as a board member when stating in public a position that is not in keeping with one adopted by the board.
  • Act at all times in accordance with the highest ethical standards and in the best interest of MIRCC, its members, and reputation.
COMPLIANCE, MONITORING AND REPORTING: The executive committee is responsible for communicating this Code of Conduct to all members of the board of directors, committee members and volunteers and for ensuring its adherence at all times to the best of our abilities.
